Backup Sensor not compatible with trailer hitch?

Backup Sensor not compatible with trailer hitch?
The CRV options list says that you can't have both Backup Sensors and Trailer Hitch. Is there a real technical reason other than the obvious one that it will detect a trailer as a close object?
