Likely your pads are worn down and there is uneven wear ion both your pads
and rotors. If they're grinding it'll certainly get rougher and rougher.
Check the pads and see if the rotors are worn deep and scored. If they're
salvageable get them planed on the car at a shop and new pads. If not and
you can do the job yourself, you'll save bucks replacing the pads and rotors
yourself. Also if the rotors are salvageable, it may be cheaper to get them
resurfaced at a store you'll get the smoothest performance out of the on car
lathing. If my pads get low enough to grind I just replace the pads and
rotors and it works fine. When my '88 Accord was built people didn't do on
car lathing so slapping on new parts is at least as good as new.
