clunking civic
hi,
I have a '93 gli civic hatch (d15b7), and am getting a clunking noise coming
from the rear. it seems to be coming more from the left (right hand drive)
but I may be wrong, it kind of sounds like running over an uneven metal
sewer cover. any one have any ideas what could be making this noise?
any thoughts would be greatly appreciated,
Michael

Re: clunking civic
Jack it up (and secure it so you don't get squished) and give everything a
good wiggle. If you don't find anything obvious, then I'll bet it could be a
wheel out of balance. Have you clipped a curb? A bent rim can go thump,
thump also. You might try to isolate the problem by rotating wheels etc.
Could be anything, but sounds like a rotating part.
Hope that give you a few ideas. Let us know what it was when you find it.
Regards,
Murray.
