CR-V 6 disk CD-changer
Hi,
can anyone help with the following.
I'm have a UK spec CR-V with factory sat nav. It only has a single disk CD
unit fitted.
I've been told the sat nav/audio control unit, will control the 6 disk CD
unit.
This seams logical, and it does have numbers 1-6 on the buttions for
radio/single CD control.
However, in the UK a Honda dealer list price is a shocking £420 for the 6
disk player & fitting.
But I did notice when I was in a couple of different dealers, they sell
Honda & Pioneer branded
audio equipment.
The 6 disk CD changer I fitted/removed from my last car is a Pioneer!
And I've been told this should fit straight in to, & work with the cars
system.
Problem is I don't know where the factory 6 disk unit is fitted, & therefore
don't know where
the link/power cables are located in the car.
And I ain't going to start ripping the car to bits looking for a couple of
wires.
Dealers don't want to tell you, as they want the fitting work.
Can anyone help, or offer advice!!
Gordon.

Try ordering the factory workshop manual--from many sources online. In it you'll find all
the info you'd need on existing wiring and cabling. . .I've even found online pdf-format
files that are the factory instructions for installing similar equipment in other models.
Good luck.

Re: CR-V 6 disk CD-changer
Anyone have anything else to add, in respect to Pioneer unit being ok with
Honda
Sat Nav control unit, or know a good source for these manuals for a UK spec
car.

Re: CR-V 6 disk CD-changer
I'm also looking for a reasonably priced multi-CD changer.
The Sony CDX-T69 (6 disk) with the right Sony adaptor unit to plug into
the Pioneer Sat Nav (shown for CR-V in the Sony list)looks bound to work,
but I suspect their brackets won't help get it fitted under the front
passenger seat. I installed this in a Fiesta with a 5000 RDS head & it
sounds fine to me.
I really want 10 CD's - the CDX-454RF 10 disk with remote display and
commander to work with radios which can't handle Sony CD changers.
I found installation instructions for the Genuine Honda CD changer -
visit:
http://www.handa-accessories.com/crvelect02.html
Is the Genuine Honda CD changer a standard Pioneer model, boxed with
brackets etc. to mount under the seat?
