Dashboard lights on a 1986 Honda Accord
The dashlights on a 1986 Honda Accord is out. I have checked the fuses and
they all appear to be ok. All other interior lights work such as the
overhead light and the radio and temp lights all work. It is just that
cluster where the odometer and other gauges are located.
Is there an easy way to replace the lights? How about the dimmer switch?
Does that normally go bad?
Thanks

Re: Dashboard lights on a 1986 Honda Accord
If all the dash lights suddenly went out together, check that dimmer and
connectors, etc. If they've just gone out over the years like bulbs
normally burn out, they can be replaced. Toward the windshield, on that
part of the dash that sticks up containing the instrument cluster, there is
a plastic plate. You can pop it out with a small screw driver - you may
want to protect the panel from getting scratched. Once you pop off that
cover, you'll see a bunch of small ****-like things. They're lightbulb
holders. You just turn them a part-turn counter clockwise and pull them
ut - just like old style automotive lamps. You will find a tiny bulb in a
socket mounted in this ****-like cap. You may need to get the bulb from a
Honda dealer.
