Will unbolting the breather box help? Perhaps you can find a pair of
specialty pliers at http://www.snapon.com/ that will allow you to access the
clamp, e.g., http://tinyurl.com/qo2h. Also keep in mind that these are just
spring clamps. You may be able to just carefully pry the bottom of the hose
off of the breather box.

I was finally able to replace the hose! I was able to maneuver my way
from the top passenger side (had to remove a few hoses) and remove the
clamp. Then, from the bottom, I was able to remove the hose.

I had to remove the oil filter and one of the intake manifold
supports. The hose came out in pieces by breaking it off with a set
of pliers and a Phillips screwdriver. Installing the new hose was a
piece of cake compared to taking out the old one.

With the new valve in place I put everything back and was able to
start the engine. Now I need to adjust/test the idle speed, but that
another thread (which I'm going to be posting in a few minutes).
