That's mostly, but not 100%, true. Sometimes the very same accessories are
factory-installed on some trim lines and dealer-installed on others. Rear
spoilers (and their matching hatch/trunk struts) are one example of those.

Real Honda options will have Honda part numbers. Dealer fluff will not have
Honda part numbers.

A heads-up for anyone thinking of passing on some options when buying a new
car: Dealer-installed options that were only ever dealer-installed are not
stocked by Honda the way parts are that also came from the factory. Few of
those parts are actually produced, so after a year or two, stock runs out
and they're gone forever. This would include stuff like rear mud flaps, and
those rear-window mirrors you could get for the CR-V...

You got it. Your only real weapon with car dealers is your willingness to
walk away unless they play ball by your rules.

Or go to the Honda site, click to find local dealers, and have them
all submit bids.

We always call that "additional deal profit". Rust proofing in Texas?
Oh yeah, we get salted about 0 times a year. When it ices, they use
sand. Last year, no days, year before, once. Car wash (three).

If we get "dealer options", we choose them. The Toyota dealer we
bought Carol's Camry from actually gave us about $400 less than we
were going to offer, right off the bat. Then threw in the things we
were asking for. My Fit came home with a full tank of gas and a free
carwash.

Dealers who throw things on and then add them to the lot sticker price
need to be approched with serious trepidation. Offer less then MSRP
and walk away if they go up on that offer. I won't call them theives
because of libel and slander laws.

Well I bought this car. I gave 19,100. Anyone think I got screwed? I
live in Ga. It is 7% state tax.

Never look back. Posting a question like that is virtually guaranteed to
prompt the response you don't want to hear. No one on the internet has the
slightest idea what the best deal available for that car could have been.
