new honda discounts
Is everyone getting serious discounts on Hondas right now ? I bought
my wife a 2005 Civic EX SE 5 speed tonight for $1,175 below the MSRP price. Sticker was $17,975, I paid $16,800. I bought the car from Gillman Honda here in Houston. I am verfy pleased with the price plus I got 60 month 2.9% financing from Honda. I am still looking for the gimmick. Thanks, Lynn McGuire |
Re: new honda discounts
I don't know what's the invoice price on the car, but the last few new
civics I got from Goodson are ~200 over invoice + TTL, no extra fees or anything, everything over the phone. That's $1765 below MSRP. This was at a Dallas, TX dealership(400 miles from where I live). Pretty good in my opinion for such a hot vehicle. The deal wasn't easy though. This was my 5th dealership to visit and even there I had to fight off very high pressure sales tactics towards addon's, accessories, service agreements, lojack/gap/life/tire insurance. Honda's are great vehicles, I just wish the dealers could be more honest and straight forward. The first dealer I went to in my home town actually modified the sales worksheet that we had an agreed upon price to add $2000 to the price between him and the finance office. Bastard! Great research here in the Town Hall. http://www.edmunds.com tM |

Re: new honda discounts
I was wondering the same thing about the Acrua (Honda) TSX. I went to the
dealer yesterday. His attitude was like: "The TSX's are practically sold right off the truck. You gotta pay a non-refundable $1000 deposit. Take it or leave it." He did agree to not charge more than sticker, however. It's a nice car, and the dealer has good customer service. I'm thinking about buying one. Re: new honda discounts
Screw them! They are not doing you a favor, you are doing them one. You
are giving them a LOT of money as you'd be paying MSRP for sure on a deal that way. I'd be extremely hesitant before handing over a $1000 deposit. Right away the dealer "owns" you and knows it. A few months ago, I was at a Honda/Hyundai dealership, well anyway Hyundai has a new model called the Tucson and had one sitting in the lobby. I looked at it and I spotted the "golden" cost called A.D.M = Additional Dealer Markup of $3000. I laughed outloud just as the sales guy came over. He was starting the sales pitch and I asked him right off, who the hell is going to pay for your A.D.M.? He didn't really get it... so he then stated "don't you want to be the first owner in the area? I said "no." Now they are selling for just under MSRP (which is still kinda surprising) On Edmunds, the average sale is $1100 below MSRP for the Acura TSX Do a search on the Acura site (or Edmunds) for the next closest dealers (or close major cities) and give them a call. You already know what the ride is like (I assume) and what you want so go find a better price! Would you drive a couple hundred miles for a (say) $1000 in final cost to you? I'd already be on the road. "I approved this message" <nospam@email.gov> wrote in message news:bMqdnTUKFddd4iHcRVn-gw@giganews.com... > I was wondering the same thing about the Acrua (Honda) TSX.
