Prelude/Civic Engine Swap?
Hi there...I recently totalled my 1990 Civic and purchased an 86 Prelude just as transportation. Problem is the prelude has REALLY high miles, so I want to swap in my Civic engine with is relativly new. Is is possible to perform this swap? Any info is appreciated!

Re: Prelude/Civic Engine Swap?
why on earth would you want to do that? the prelude engine is stronger than
the civic engine, not to mention that would be a downgrade. usually you swap
a civic engine FOR a prelude, not the opposite.

Re: Prelude/Civic Engine Swap?
Well... Although it might be physically possible (i.e. it will FIT).... I
dont think it's doable...
You're out of luck, if you had an acura intergra, or someting along those
lines then you might be able to, as they have fairly very similar layouts
as civics.

Re: Prelude/Civic Engine Swap?
dont listen to that gibberish, prelude engine may be stronger but it is
an '86 which means it was still carburated and 4 years older too but
thats dosnt really matter because it ws not what he was asking
(assuming he but lets not go there) it will not work because after 1987
the mounting system changed for all hondas and most accuras. with
enough money you could make custom mounts and do a fuel injection
conversion but its not worth the troubble
