Richard,
I suspect your auto trans management computer also.
It will get worse but can't say how easy it may be for you to recover after
"incidents".
Yes replacement computers are very costly.
The usual fix is to purchase a used 2nd hand computer & fit this.

Re: 92 Accord Transmission Problems....Need Advice
I ordered a used transmission computer for $120. (that's way better
than a new car note) I had to give the exact serial number of the old
computer, as there are many different types for this same 92 accord
LX.
Further diagnosis pointed directly to an electrical problem with the
computer most likely being the culprit.
