Re: clean fuel injectors
Have my 2004 Accord EX 4i in for a 40k mile service, dealer calls an
says there's a little buildup on the injectors, do I want to spen
$160 to get the injector flush
(hey, they sell this car on a 100k mile "no tuneup" policy
I usually let the dealer screw me around for modest stuff, but is thi
reasonable or competely bogus? I know I asked online a couple o
years ago when my Acura dealer tried to sell me that flush on ever
service, sight-unseen, and the consensus seemed to be it might mak
sense around 80k to 100k miles, but not sooner
Anyway, those friggin' tiny back brakes were down below 2mm so I tol
them to go ahead on those, so I wasn't in the mood for more BS
Any advice on that injector flush
FWIW, I use almost exclusively Chevron gas
Thanks
J
If you have always used a good high quality fuell from day
(meaning since new) like chevron with techron and changed your fuell filte
regularly and you know the vehicle runs well with no starting or hesitation
problems dont fall for it! you dont need it on my 95 civic with 224.000km
never had that done never did need it car ran beutifully. the
"key to maintaining clean fuel injectores" is using a good
quality fuell and changing the fuel filter when HONDA
recommends it be done that will keep your fuel injectores
clean and flowing right for a ton of miles
