Shifter panel removal
2001 Civic LX 4 door, 5 speed.
Anyone know how to remove the trim piece around the shifter, the one that
the shift boot attaches to. I'm hoping it'll just pop out, instead of taking
out the whole centre console. When I put the shifter into First fom neutral,
something is rubbing and squeeking, I want to take a look and lubricate if
necessary.
Thanks

You're gonna have to unscrew and remove the whole lower center console...
it's really not as bad as it sounds. I've stripped and put back together
a lot of cars to do interiors for people. i think for you it's a total of
6-12 screws
