Stereo Lock Code
Does anyone know any additional information about how to find the code
for the standard Honda Stereo when the power gets drained?
This site lists that many people seem to have found the 'white sticker'
with the codes in various places on this site.
http://www.scottmanning.com/journal/000490.php
However I have tried all the places listed i believe, and since i bought
it used I don't have the original code in the manual.
Any help would be appreciated,
this is for a 2002 Honda Civic specifically.
Thanks,
Lon

It's five digits long, and should have been written in the owner's
manual, or inside one of the fuse box covers. The white sticker is
sometimes in the glove box, trunk, or under the hood.
Do like the article says . . .Phone the dealer where it was serviced.
They (often) keep the code in their computer because the techs might
have the power off when servicing.
If you don't have an Owner's manual, order one while you have the guy on
the phone.

Re: Stereo Lock Code
If you take the serial number off the back of the radio to the dealer they
can get it for you. There have been some people post it here and got the
answer from someone on the news group....

The codes aren't on the white sticker; that would negate the value of
the code.
What's on the white sticker is the radio serial number. With the radio
serial number in hand, any Honda dealer can get the code very quickly.
If you don't know what your radio serial number is, you'll have to pull
the radio. Or pay someone to pull the radio.

My wife's 2001 Odyssey has the code, not the serial number, printed on a
white sticker on the inside of the door of the center console bin.
I have been unable to find a sticker with either the code or the serial
number in my 2000 Accord. The dealer from which I bought the car new says it
has no record of either one, and insists that they put those stickers in all
the cars they sell. But I can't find it, and the dealer says I'd have to
bring the car in to have them pull the stereo (for $80 or $100 or whatever)
to find the serial number. Hey, thanks a lot. I'd rather just replace it
with something better.
