Sticking Automatic Radio Antenna
Does anyone know how I can disable or fix a power rear mounted antenna on a
94 accord. Mine will only go up or down so far before stopping and making a
helicopter like noise? I tried removing the fuse for the antenna which
worked except my radio would not work then. Any suggestions would be
appreciated. Thanks.

Replace just the mast with a new one. In most cases the motor is fine.

About the only solution would be to remove the antenna and replace it with
one that you purchase at a auto parts store. Some companies make a rubber
antenna that bends easily when going thru a car wash. I've seen several
1993 and 1994 Honda Accords in this town with the rubber antenna mentioned
above. They probably had the same problem that you are now having.

Mine would do that occassionally,so I used some RS teflon lube gel,and that
stopped it.

Give it a good cleaning with WD40, especially around the joints and
around the mount. It's a common problem, I thought the one on my 94
Accord needed replacement as well, but after cleaning it, it started
working just fine.
Make sure you clean it every few days in the winter if you live in a
place like Toronto. The salt will clog it up pretty badly, causing it to
stick.

Re: Sticking Automatic Radio Antenna
Also, if you want to diconnect it entirely, the motor has an electrical plug
at the base. Remove the plug when the antenna is up - and you're done.
Did the same to mine about year ago.
