On a serious note I have a real problem when asked if I want US style democracy in the UK. In principle I really do BUT the result is presidents/state governors that win are actors and the super rich that have media exposure. Do they really have the skill for the job?? Do they have the a real interest in the common man (or woman)? If we had that system we would have old footballers or worse. So I'll keep our queen thank you. |

You obviously don't know what a parliamentary democracy is or common law. I am assuming by implication, you are extolling the US model of government. Care to have a look about you and observe the chaos, incompetence and corruption that exists in the USA at this time. Can that be a recommendation or the basis to criticize any other system of government? It would be funny if it wasn't so pitiful.
