Okay, to start off...I'm no car expert so help me please. Car has been making a weird noise for the past week. The car is an automatic and every time I drive and hit higher RPM's before the car changes into next gear....it makes this weird rumbling noise...i assume it was the belts or something....but I procrastinated and didn't look into it...so today after driving at 40+ mph the rumbling noise really kicked in and was really loud...then I hear this knocking noise...I assume the pistons are damaged? I've no clue...but the car still starts and drives...just that it has really no power and the knocking noise is there....help me out here....is this going to cost lots of $$$!? Any advice will be appreciated. So....in the end...never procrastinate! You know your car best and when it's making a noise that is not normal...get it checked out! Thanks to God the 15 mile tow home went okay...im still alive.

It could be a number of things. I would have a mechanic check it out. I can't just say what it is, I'm not looking at the car.
