2002 Sonata AC problem
I have a 2002 Sonata 4cyl. that after the AC has been blowing a while a mist
will come out of the vents and then the pressure will go away. It will still
blow slightly and the temperature still seems to work. You just seem to
loose pressure. Any ideas? The dealership of course says that it does not
do it when they have it in there so therefore they can not fix it.

Alan,
Just a guess, but sounds like it's freezing up in the cooling coils. On
humid days that can happen. If you turn the A/C off for a few minutes
but leave the fan running on high it would clear up the problem
temporarily, if that's what's happening. To avoid it, you could try
running with recirculated air on humid days.

The 'mist' you are seeing is water/water vapor being forced out of the
vents by your fan.
It sounds like the AC is freezing up. If the humidity is really high
this can happen. Turning off the AC and leaving the blower motor
running will melt the ice and restore the airflow. If it happens
continually I would suspect that the temperature cutout switch is not
working, it is designed to cycle the AC system off once the coils
reach a preset temperature to help avoid icing.

Well unfortunately, that's not normal. The evaporator is not supposed to get
frosted under any circumstances. I hope you still have the b-to-b warranty!
