2003 Sonata Problem
Have a 2003 sonata. Purchased it 4 months ago. I have 11500 miles on it.
It's a v6 gl model. Went out to mall lastnight and while driving back home
on the highway the car bucked twice. I've no notice since the first day I
drove the car home new that when I press down on the accelerator the car
seems to hesitate. In other words, the engine revs up but the car does not
move much until about 2-3 seconds. When it does go while I am pressing down
the acel pedal that it sounds like there is a fuel injection problem. Now
whats the deal. I call the dealer, set up the appointment and are they going
to charge me $$$ even though I have a warrenty. Anyone else with this
problem. Newbie here. TY

Re: 2003 Sonata Problem
Sounds like transmission troubles. At least it's covered under the
warranty! Mine wasn't covered when it blew and it cost me $2600 to
replace.
Good luck

Re: 2003 Sonata Problem
That lag is present on all of the cars. 2-3 seconds seems kind of
long though, I would have said about 0.5-1 second lag between stomping
the gas and actually moving (depending on what gear you are in). It's
even worse when you hit the gas hard enough to make the transmission
downshift. Then you get that 0.5-1s lag plus the 0.5-1s lag of the
slow tranny downshifting.
They can't charge you on a problem like this unless you did something
to the car to cause the problem.
