Re: Re: 2006 Sonata LX, what did you pay?
Just an update on my tire/vibration issue.
I took the car back, and per my suggestion, they replaced all four tires AND rims. (Swapped with another Sonata.) When I test drove it again, I noticed a vibration when I broke hard. It wasn't the ABS.. I wasn't trying to lock up the wheels.. but it was obvious to the tech when he drove it too. So now it seemed as if there was a warped roter, or something wrong with the suspension. Everyone agreed it would take days to get it figured out. So, long story short; they replaced the car. They had another LX at another location in the same color and everything. Despite what I paid for the car, I think the real value came through in how the dealership treated me. Even the factory rep for Hyundai was there yesterday.. (I was there from 8:30am to 7pm.. but didn't regret the time spent,) and he took a real interest in me and the problem, and even some comments I had about the car, like the cruise/set lights being too bright at night, and no station/track change button on the steering wheel. This was the Rick Case dealership in Davie Florida. After being there all day, I think there were about 2 people I didn't talk to. Everyone was very nice, took an interest in me and was supportive. It was unlike any experience I've ever had at a car dealer. They repeatedly thanked me for having patience with them. Never once did it get into a pissing match about the problem or anything. Now I have a new Sonata.. and of course with my luck.. there is an issue with it as well. Apparently the adhesive paper they put on the body when shipping, wasn't removed before the sun baked it, so the adhesive affected the clear coat finish above the rear doors. So I'll have to go back again and have them resolve that, but at least it's not a mechanical issue. Now I just have to wait until 1,500 miles before I can (cough) enjoy that 3.3 liter V6. ;) Kiran |
