Amount to Offer for a New 2003 Elantra GT Hatchback?
A local dealer has a 2003 Elantra GT Hatchback (Ruby Red) that I am
interested in purchasing, although I'm planning to buy a 2004 if I
can't get a good enough deal on the 2003.
I was thinking about offering $9500 for the 2003 GT. I know it's a low
offer, but I don't care too much for the color, and I assume that the
dealer will be wanting to get rid of the 2003.
Do you think a dealer would accept $9500 for a 2003, or is that simply
too low? If it is too low, what do you think would be a likely
acceptable offer?
Also, for those of you who have bought a 2004 Elantra GT Hatchback,
how much did you pay?
Thanks!
Max

Well, the invoice price for the 2004 GTis $13,664. I don't think that
there's any way that you'll be able to get the 2003 for $4000 under
invoice, especially if there are any options installed.
