HI, For a 2001 Tiburon

I have a weird problem with Tiburon.
It is 2001.
Since few months ago, whenever filling in the gasoline, it gives you click
click whenever it is full. This happenes even my gas tank is not full. WHat
is the problem? I thought it would be the sensor from the gas station, but
every gas stations give me same problem~!
Please help~!

It sounds like your on board vapor recovery system is not properly venting.
It's also possible there's a problem with the pump if it only occurred at
one pump. Did your check engine lamp come back? If so, it may well
provide a clue.
You can look for a clogged evap filter by the charcoal canister or it's
also possible you may have a sticking rollover valve in the tank.
I'm suspecting that checking most of this is beyond your experience and
knowledge. You may wish to take it to a qualified shop for diagnosis and
repair. I'd recommend a dealer.

Hi, Thanks for answering the question quickly.
This happened before clutch was slipped.
What is the onboard vapor recovery system ? and may I may have a sticking
rollover valve in the tank ?
Should I try to clean inside the tank ?
Thanks, Always.

Re: HI, For a 2001 Tiburon
No, you shouldn't try to clean anything.
All cars manufactured since 1998 are required by the federal government to
capture gasoline vapors when refueling. Doing so, means that the air in
the tank must be displaced through the charcoal canister (which filters
the vapors) into the atmosphere.
If the valve in the tank is sticking, it should be replaced. But that's
only one possibility. A blockage in the valve on the canister, or the
filter between the valve and atmosphere would cause the same problem.
If this hasn't happened since the clutch issue, I wouldn't worry about it
right away. Such a blockage could have occurred from frozen junk clogging
the air filter. If that was the case, it has most likely melted and gone
away by now, especially if the check engine lamp hasn't come back on.
