I test drove the Hyundai Accent and I liked it except for the oily plastic
on the inside doors. I brought my 6'2" son to have a test drive and the
saleswoman said: "Trust me, he won't fit in this car. I have seen people try
to squeeze themselves into the Accent or Tiburon and it just doesn't work."

I figured she would try to steer us toward the Elantra or other larger
model, but she simply didn't care and let us just walk away. All the cars on
the lot were parked touching each other in long rows. It would have been too
darn much hassle for them to get one out for us to drive. Don't they want to
sell cars?

I was a long time Hyundai driver until I got my Toyota and hated it, and was
going to try again with another Hyundai. Not now, I guess. Maybe it's
shallow, but sales attitudes mean something to me.

was totally wrong about the size being "too small" for him to even get in
it.

The Chrysler and Saturn people were wonderful to us, but I didn't like the
cars after our test drives. And thus for now, I will keep the Toyota, and
look into getting the Pony repaired.

THEY WOULD HAVE LOVED TO SELL ME A NEW ONE BUT I OWN THIS ONE AND
FIGERED WAY HAVE PAYMENT

BUT FOR THE MOST PART I GO TO A NOTHER DELLER.

**Why walk away? Go over that dingbat's head and tell her manager. Get
another salesperson that gives a sh*t. Go to another Hyundai dealer
(if there's another one close by). Don't settle for cars you don't
like.

I miss my old 85 Pony, btw she was giving you a crock.
We have a 1999 Accent which is a tad smaller inside than the newer ones and
our frind who is 6'4 could not believe the room in the car.
I mysef am a pretty big guy, and i have NO problems fiting in the car.

When I was shopping for my Sonata I was at the Hyundai dealer nearest
my home. I told them that I wanted a White Sonata GLS but they did
not have one. I then asked if they could get me one by trading with
another dealer. They said no. I then called the next closest dealer
and asked them if they had a white one. They did and I went there and
bought it.

I got an Excel from them in '94, the salesman promised me the sun, moon, and
stars... Free floor mats, detailing once a year, everything but his
daughter's hand in marriage. All I had to do was buy $2000.00 extended
warrantee.

Once the deal was done, I found I did not have any paperwork stating
anything about the "extras".... and you know that goes, no paperwork, no
proof....

McCafferty (RT1&413) isn't much better, generally bad attitudes, my wife
got her '99 Elantra there, when I was looking for my '02 EGT they only
wanted to sell me something that was on the lot _right there and then_ they
refused to order or look for the car I wanted.

I got my '02 EGT from Burlington Hyundai on RT130 in NJ. As of now, I don't
have anything bad to say about them.

He'll struggle in the Tiburon for sure, and it's definatley not worth the
hassel. I've seen pics of a few rolled Tibs, and u need to make sure you've
got at least an inch head clearance.

That said - the models without sunroof are about 1" or so higher on the
inside. I'm 5'11" and fit in the sunroofed version ok.

A 6'2" guy should be able to drive an Accent, but might not be so
comfortable in the back. Did she even let your son sit in it to try for
himself?

I bought my second Hyundai there Mar.2002. My first was a 99 Elantra
Wagon. I never had any problems with
anyone there. I wanted a Black 2002 Sonata, and at that time they didn't
have one. They got one for me, but it took three days. They threw in fabric
protection treatment
for free because of the wait. That was a $200 savings, and to top it off I
got the 4 cyl. model for 14,999. With my trade-in (99 Elantra Wagon) I only
paid $9550 for my Sonata with 6% interest! A very good buy! JR

Have to give McCafferty high marks also. Northeast Auto Aholes wouldn't even
talk after the car was bought. McCafferty took the time to look at the paint
problem and saw that it was a defect in the paint and fixed it (very well I
should add). McCafferty may have saved a Hyundai a customer that Northeast
Auto definitely LOST.
