Yes it is. What are you planning to do with your '99 Sonata (trade in,
keep, sell?). If selling or trading in, what will you be getting for it?
What was original purchase price?

Well, congrats on the new car but bummer on the 2.0L I4. The 2.4L I4
used in the US base model is under-powered enough.

No the 2004 is a 2.4L 4cyl.. in Aus as well, I have heard about this lack
of power and i am not really concerned, I am driving on roads not a race
track...I care more about looks and comfort..
Power is nice for overtaking etc. But the limit is 100 or 110 KPh on the
highways and i tend to stick to them. I found the old Sonata fine for
overtaking even with 4 adults on board..

hear hear.
there's ample power in the 4 to lose your licence for speeding and it
has the bonus of being easier to service and cheaper to register (in
Queensland at least) than the 6.
ALL cars today have ample power compared to cars of only 20 years ago.
I have a homepage

It may be ordinary but it's better than nothing.
