Re: New Sonata spyshots
Why do you believe either one of the pics is a Sonata? I see nothing
brought over from the 2004 or previous models.

Hmmmm, believe it when I see it. I think the 2004 has great styling. I see
a lot of them on the road and have to think Hyundai might not invest in
changing the model for a couple more years. I think Hyundai just had to
cough up a lot of dough for the workforce who were looking for some more
dollars, or whatever they use in Korea for cash. If that's the new Sonata,
I'm very happy with the current the model I have.

I have a Sonata V6 too, and the new model is imho less attractive than this
one.
Anyway, it will appear on Korean market in 2005 and as I can see there are
some interesting new features, like car navi and double exaust.
It reminds me something of Audi , and probably it will be in intl market in
2006.

Re: New Sonata spyshots
Yes, my next car will have navigtion. I am getting too old to remember
directions, and driving while referring to several pages of mapquest print
outs is getting too damn dangerous. My only complaint with my V6 Sonata is
that the gas mileage could be better. The fit and finish of the vehicle is
top quality. I got a sunroof and leather, which my Honda LX did not have
five years ago and paid three grand less for the Hyundai..

How many miles have youon Sonata now? I noticed an improvement in mileage
after 10.000 Km (about 6000 miles). About navi, I have mounted a Blaupunkt
RNS4 on my V6 Sonata and it works fine being not expensive too.

freeway (A/C always on).and I don't use electronic shift.

Re: New Sonata spyshots
Just went over 16,000 miles. I get about 23 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on
the road. I'll have to check out the nav system. Thanks.

Just back from a week in Germany and itn that area with no traffic I had an
average speed of 57 Km/h (about 35 mph) and a mileage of over 12 Km/l while
in my city are mileage is usualli above 8 Km/l.

Re: New Sonata spyshots
According to my calculations, and conversion of liters to US gallons, you
got a little over 28 mpg (US) on the highway (at 35mph) and a little over 18
mpg (US) in the city at speeds much lower than what I encounter. I averaged
27 mpg on the highway and something more than 22 mpg in the city. On the
interstate highway, I travel at 70 mph or better. I use the automatic
transmission and not the manual electronic shift in the city. Perhaps that
is why I get a few miles more per gallon in the city.

Me too, but traffic in my city area is intense and usually in highway I go
at an average of 85 mph, so that mileage of 28 mpg was possible only
travelling in Germany with max speed of 75 and cities with no traffic.

Try this link for more photos of the 2006 Sonata:

I find the car very "Acura"ish. Quite nice. In fact, I'm adding it to my
list for my next car.
I currently have a Kia Sorento and am so pleased with the Korean product
line that I have no problems considering another.
