Replace tail lamp 2002 Elantra
Has anyone replaced a tail lamp bulb on a Elantra? I assume you get access
from the trunk. I removed the two screws to remove the formed cover. And the 3 nuts that hold on the lamp housing assembly. The fourth is covered in rubber. I can not get the rubber cover off easily. I do not want to damage. I'm I on the right track? How are the bulbs replaced? / |

Bring it to your dealer, covered by bumper-to-bumper warranty. J.M. |
Re: Replace tail lamp 2002 Elantra
The brake bulb is not covered by the bumper to bumper, it's 1 year 12k
miles only. The original poster is on the right track. There's a metal pin which engages into the plastic cover you see. Take a small hammer, 3/8" drive ratchet head, or something similarly heavy and give a good whack to the plastic cover inside the trunk to give the lamp assembly a little help out toward the rear of the car. It should come out straight backward. |
