Suspension swap
I'm looking at getting my struts/springs replaced from a fellow elantraclub member.
He had a 99 (J2) Elantra wagon with a KYBGR2/Eibach setup, and I've got 150Kkm stock 03 GT (XD).
Would they work?
The KYB part numbers are different for the rears only. I couldn't find any Eibach part numbers to compare, but it's a Pro-Kit.

The strut mounts are the same part numbers. (Front, SM5193; Rear SM5239/SM5240)
The price is hard to beat, and would make a nice swap from failing stock.

Well seems like no one has any input on this....
I'll be picking up the strut/spring setup this month and doing the swap before Christmas... I'll post the answer once I confirm it.
I know people have put XD strut/springs on the J2 - so I would imagine they would go the other way.

well incase anyone comes across this and has the same questions.....here's the answer
The J2 struts DO fit, though the rears are about 3/4" shorter than the XD strut.
Match that up with a 1" drop spring and you've got a low riding backend. Install a nice solid rubber spring spacer on top of the spring, below the mount (not one that goes inbetween the coils) and you'll be back up to normal, lowered height.

With springspacer: (haven't taken many pictures since, difficult to see - especially with the snow)
measurements are: - center of the wheel to the bottom edge of the wheel well
front: 13"
rear: 11.5" - just strut/springs
rear: 12.5" - with spring spacer added
clearance from the bottom of the lift-point edging to ground: 4.5-4.75" - without spacer, did not measure this after the spacer was added in
If I were to do a spring/strut swap again I'll get the proper struts for the back. Other than that she handles like a dream. Team the KYBs, Eibachs and the TIbby 19mm rear swaybar and it's niiiice
