Tire Recommendation 99 Elantra
Hi All,
I was wondering what people recommend for a good quality all
season tire to replace the OEMs on my sister's 99 Elantra. She has
about 52,000 miles with the current MXV4s. I had a look at tire rack
and 2 that I saw were Bridgestone Potenza RE910 and Yokohama Avid T4.
Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Nick

We decided on the Bridgestone Turanza LS-H a highly rated tire and IMO,
definitely a major improvement over the MXV4s. Quieter, stickier and way
better in the rain. Don't know how they will do in snow as we haven't
had any since we put then on over a year ago. The ratings suggest that
they will do the job.
There are other tires out there as well that I'm sure will out perform
the
MXV4s for a lot less money

Re: Tire Recommendation 99 Elantra
Just bought a set of Avid Touring 185/70R13 for my son's car.
80k mile warranty. Excellent traction and handling.
Check out this website for your local dealer..
Got them for about $50 per tire, mounted,,etc plus Road hazard
from a TireRack dealer.
Enjoy

Re: Tire Recommendation 99 Elantra
Yeah, the Yokohama AVID series of tires is great. If they come in
your size, you really can't beat the AVID H4s/V4s (not the H4/V4).
They're brand new. The AVID H4s/V4s carries a UTQG rating of 500/AA/A
and is available in H - and V- speed ratings. They're what I'm
planning on installing on my 03 Sonata LX (205/60-R16) next summer
after these crappy OEM MXV4+ tires wear out.
