Warranty
I have a 2002 Accent 4 door, automatic with 23000 miles. If I do the
required maintainence (not suggested) and keep all the receipts etc. Can
Hyundai refuse warranty work if it becomes necessary? I have had no problems
at all! Took it from Wisconsin to Florida twice this year. I took it to a
dealer for an oil change, twice, the second time they gave me the 12000
mile "check" which was rotating the tires and "checking everything". That
cost almost $100.00.
Any advice.

So what you're asking is, is the warranty really a warranty, or is it
just something Hyundai says to sell cars but has no intention of
honoring?
It is a real warranty. It is valid as long as the required maintenance
is done. And even if you can't _prove_ that required maintenance has
been done, they have to honor the warranty unless it is obvious that
lack of maintenance caused the problem. In reality the dealer probably
won't even check your maintenance records unless they, for example,
open up your radiator and find it filled with rich, delicious pudding.
A mechanic can tell whether you take decent care of your car. The lack
of records would just be a formality for disallowing the warranty
claim; if you don't take care of your car, he will know you don't have
them before he even asks for them.

Re: Warranty
thanks Jerry! That's what I presumed. I was in the service station business
after the army, and before I finished school and got married and I can tell
you that there were people who changed their oil every 25000 miles! I also
recall that Hyundai cannot "require" you to do the maintainence per se, but
as you said if it is obvious you caused the problem through abuse then they
will tell you hasta la vista.
