92 Civic VS LS1 Camero

I was driving and i saw someone speeding driving a camero... anyways we end up at a light side by side i looked over and it was some old guy... so when i ligh went green i left a lil early u know to get him to run... of course he punched it i let him get to my fender then i punched it... i pulled on him soo hard... the next light was red again... he pulled into the plaza jus be4 the light so that he didnt have to come next to me... oh ya everything in the plaza was closed... hahahaha i love beat on guys that think all honda r slow...

Kuztom Freak 07-01-2006 02:27 PM

Back in the day Hondas were slow as there was no real aftermarket back then (early 90's) and they had nada under the hood (except for v6 swaps n such) so even my old 4 banger Le Baron used to take em, not to mention my Camaro (the big heavy thing it is, older unit) so some of the older guys arnt up to date on whats what believing old ways, however todays camaros with the LS1's put out just nicely and have good traction (not the best but rather good unless it was a v6 or something and you confused camaros or ???). So Im wondering if he went all out, didnt scope out for cops ahead of time and remained cautios, if was an actual mini race or not, or if yer ride is performance modified. I aint beating on yer ride or any honda so no one blast me k. If he actually gunned it and wasnt in 3rd already and you smoked him then all I can say is good kill buddy :smilie_da
I personally dont know how well imports/hondas pull as the only time I seem to get one to line up with me (for fun and up to 80kms) are when Im in a stock v6 domestic, I still have an older belief that due to engine they lack off line torque but put out high end, the only import Ive owned (other than a euro) was an RX-7 and its a diff engine all together. Theres also something else that a lot of non-import driving older guys think (and ive kinda seen this too so...) is that the front wheel drives are squirly when launching/burning out and that thers a tendency for the car to jerk into the next lane when shifting gears and may have been a concern for him, - does this happen? I notice it on my fwd's but only a little.
sorry for the long post, good kill bro:smilie_da

Sorry to say brown kid i think your a lil off in your statement...I have enough customers with LS1 F-body's and Stock they can easily dip 13.3's on a SO-SO day so your lil civic has to have some serious juice to come close...
My ol' lil red used to run low 13's NA and it had a bit of a time with little modded LS1's So i dunno tell us a lil bout your grey EG and it'll bring some truth to the story...Toying with an LS1 f-body lol if he was going you wouldnt be able to toy the torque of them would leave you behind if you let off at all
My conclusion
Newer 6 cyl F body
LT1 f body
1 pretty juiced up civic
Wasnt going...

Not all people can drive:)

I walked an SS Camaro (2000+). (20-230km/h)

My car only ran 14.0 with that setup.

I find that a lil far fetched to if you ask me but more believable since you have some lag and you do make tq the problem is you dont get out of the dig well because of this and the weight factor so once moving its a good runner...
I've known a few SS LS1's to be little "FACTORY FREAKS" and hit 12.8's all day long bone stock so you can understand my disbelief a lil...
I have 1 customer
2002 WS6 6SPD LS1
HYPERTECH
LOWERED EIBACH
KYB AGX'S
K&N DROP IN
EDELBROCK STRUT BARS FXR
CATBACK EXHAUST (MAGNAFLOW)
12.4'S all day long such a beautiful car and it gets good gas mileage too

SuprAdam 07-02-2006 11:32 AM

All in the driver.

Thus, supra > LS1 :smokin:

S.Smartass 07-02-2006 11:59 AM

BrowNKiD 07-04-2006 01:40 AM

BrowNKiD 07-04-2006 01:42 AM

v8mike 07-04-2006 11:23 AM

The LT1 just doesnt get any respect anymore heheh. Its obviously slower than a LS1, but is not THAT slow. My LT1 runs 13.5 @ 106 n/a with intake/exhaust/headers on street tires, which is comparable with alot of LS1's. Its a bit faster on the bottle :)

There are just as many LT1s running 9s/10s as LS1s......

Charlie_Chaos 07-06-2006 12:43 PM

did the guy in the Camaro Know you were racing him or was he just in a rush to get to an empty lot to smoke a fatty?

Way to be part of the problem BTW.

Racing from the light. Want some paint chips to snack on???

v8mike 07-06-2006 06:18 PM

Good point.

Is someone a little upset that their mullet-mobile got whooped by a civic?

Where is the BS flag when you need it?

BTW it is CamAro, not Camero.

BrowNKiD 07-07-2006 07:38 PM

yaya so i cant type... still doesnt defeat the fact that i smoked the camAro

v8mike 07-07-2006 09:13 PM

They can run low 13's on street tires with a good driver. With a poor driver, sure, Ive seen high 13's, low 14's.

When you do run at the track, please post your time slip. Not that I dont believe its possible that you won, but Id be interested to know what your set up runs. However, keep in mind that its entirely possible that he wasnt racing. I cant tell you the number of times Im just minding my own business and some kid comes blazing by me then throws on their hazards lol. Im old enough that I dont feel I need to prove anything anymore :)

79camaro 07-07-2006 10:58 PM

As of right now my own personal vehicles the fastest thing ive owned was my old civic my best time at the track was 12.43@117mph on 100 shot and alot of other work...it went high 11's with the new owner and an 11.4@123 mpg on a 150 shot but blew 3rd cyl piston rings doing so not enough fuel to handle that shot...And now im building a monster domestic so honestly from the sounds of Brown_Kid its probably a GSR with slight headwork and bolt ons so mid 13's non consistant so...how bout me no bottle you on the bottle and when im at the track...loser pays the others track charges for the day...

i dont have everything set the way i want it yet... but i do have a couple of other civics that will race 4 money if u want send me a pm

79camaro 07-08-2006 06:21 PM

but see its gonna have to be a track event when i do...right now im like every other guy on this board blowing smoke cuz its in the works i dont wanna take up on challenges that god forbid something comes up and it gets pushed back i dont wanna be a talker....i back what i can do up....so while im in the break in period ill start taking on some challenges and i highly doubt any civics are gonna be coming looking for me for money...GSRMATT n TATTOO's old cars were fast as hell but i will soon enough prove they couldnt hold a candle to my car...so if it isnt at least a 11.0 car dont waste your money or time...for shits if you wanna pull bside at the track and go for a friendly pass i got no problems like i said im not looking to be #1 around here...im doing this for me and enjoying myself...but dont bite off more than you can chew

BrowNKiD 07-08-2006 06:31 PM

nice nice... wat kinda car u building? my car wont be close to 11 but i know a couple of civics that are....

79camaro 07-12-2006 12:40 AM

many will see it as the process of the car re-rebuild comes to unravel remember it pays to do it right the 1st time and pay 2 play is the slogan of the year...

andres_188 07-12-2006 06:45 PM

I have a 2001 LS1 Fbody, fully stock. The only thing that I have done is change the spark plugs. I ran in Cayuga last summer (it was a hot day 25-30C) on a sunday afternoon best time = 13.521@109mph
60'=2.170
330'=5.926
1/8=8.897
mph=82.45
1000'=11.414
1/4=13.521
mph=109.41

This was with really crappy street tires. And on pump gas (ultra 94).

Must be some pretty impressive Civic to smoke an LS1. 335ft/lbs of torque at 4000rpm, it might be a bit heavier, but there is no replacement for displacement.

I'm not saying you didn't smoke the camaro... but if you did, you must have something impressive done to that civic.

Maybe you did maybe you didnt. LS1's are awsome. Even more so when you see the odd 2005-05 GTO in canada. I too have hear dof those cars running 12s off the showroom floor (camaro not gto).
