930 Turbo vs. 360 Modena Spyder

Well, the day started off normal enough I guess. I walked into my garage, grabbed the license plate off of my seat, and put it on the car. I started her up, let her idle to warm up for a little. Then I went on my marry way to Woodbridge. Since this is the maiden voyage of the car, I decide I should get use to her. I let her hang a little here, a little there until I feel comfortable (took about 10 minutes), then it was go time. 404 southbound I decide to push her a little, get her up to 140ish mph no problem. That quenched my thirst for speed for the day until I happened upon a bright red Modena. This guy was driving like a hero, weaving in and out of traffic just after he merged. So I say to myself "Someone has to stop this madman and put him in his place." I get up on his *** in the right hand lane, a Camry calmly moves out of our path. Instantly the Modena drops a few gears and gives it. I drop to third (its a 4spd) and chase. I had to keep letting off in third so I wouldn't rear end this guy, finally the centre lane opens up. This is when I wind out third and hit fourth. As I am passing him, I give him the "peace" symbol, which is pretty much a bitch slap. I had pulled a few lengths on him, maybe 4 or 5 then he hit the brakes. I shut down at around 165mph (my speedo is in MPH). I slow down to give him a thumbs up for a good run, but he just decides to get off the highway and pretend it didn't happen.

Anyways, Ferrari 0 - Porsche 1. God damn that car is fun.

Its gutted with RS Door panels, power windows (only power option it has), and the dash. Has a cage in it (6 point road race), straight pipe, long neck intercooler, 1 bar spring, avo shocks, etc. The way this thing pulls right now it feels like a solid mid to low 12 second car. I had such a blast in it today, that I don't feel like driving anything else. Easily one of the most entertaining cars I have ever owned (including the Talon).

Well, I am bench racing, but I figure somewhere north of 300whp, and over 340wtq. Car weighs in at about 2600lbs. The new setup I am going with should put her over 420whp, and north of 450wtq. Hopefully the rest of my tools come in this week, then I can order the go fast stuff.

That's pretty good for a 930. Will you do any work to the engine(pistons/rods) or can the stock block handle it? I wanna see this car run once its done

A lot of the guys in the states are putting down between 600-800whp with these cars. The weak part of the car is the rods, which tend to let go around 550-650hp. I will do the rods, pistons, barrels (individual cylinders and heads on air cooled P cars), crank, stand alone, etc., when the time comes. Right now the weak part in the system is the mechanical fuel injection. Stops flowing enough fuel around 450whp apparently. I will have to wait and see I guess.

I still have to get it, I can't wait! This Ferrari guy probably wouldn't have gotten it, he looked like the typical "Its a Ferrari, so its a rocket ship" kinda guy.

Blackout - Sure man, just let me know when. You should also come out to a trackday. That's what I am setting this car up for anyways, road racing. Drag racing was fun, but I have had my fill of it.

Suspension work is for next season when I pick up a donor body. This one is to rusty, so no track time for me this year.
