98 Accord V6 vs 93-95 Lude SR

6:30am Friday morning, Bramelea and Bovaird. Guy in a Black Prelude SR pulls up beside me, i didn't take much attention to the car, till he started edging forward as the light was ready to turn green. So the light turns green, he hits it, i gradually accelerate and pass him. This was pretty much done for me so I let off the accelerator to slow down to normal speed, then he pulls up beside me and honks, i look over and he's signalling that he wants to go. So . . . who am I to refuse, we both go from about 60km/h, all i can hear is his car hitting the rev limiter. I was pulling car lengths on him. Then i slowed down to make my left turn, and avoid going through anymore intersections at 120km/h LOL. He just kept going and going. . . he must of thought the race was still on. Anyhow I smoked his ***, he's lucky i never went from a dig, would have humiliated him.

Young gun can only hope to improve
^ then im not sure if u know what ur talkin about,

the v6 cord as dumb as this sounds would have beaten teh lude no problem
tho im sure he didnt put more than 2 car lenghts on him either way he did win
only thing is tho, were u guys both autos?

accutally i did some research, ur v6 only comes coupled with an auto, so unless the lude was also auto i dunt think u couldve won

Prelude SR????? Its a 2.3L non-vtec motor, Common man a B16 civic will kill that. Its not a SR-V. I know what the SR-V can do. I've kept up to SR's in 1st and 2nd gear in a SOHC civic si but got beat after that. You must have your car mistaken. And he was 5spd. But if no one believes it then who am i to say anything. I'll gladly delete the thread.

92-95 preludes are a joke in terms of speed, they're heavy as . they do look pretty good though gotta admit.

The newer preludes are even more of a joke in terms of speed.

I'm sortve divided on new preludes, on the one hand I hate all preludes past 1987 because they just got progressively heavier and softer, but on the other hand 5th gen preludes put down faster laps then s2000's easily I think the Solo1/2 champ for the last 3 years running in ontario has been a stock 5th gen prelude. Driver aside that still means its beating out the viper clubs in PAX and lap times.

To look at the Canadian solo1/2 results as evidence that preludes are faster than s2000's or vipers is highly misleading. We have a very shallow competitive field compared to, say, the US. If you want to eliminate the effect of the driver and concentrate on which is faster car, look at the US scca nationals. When the driver factor is taken out, a prelude is no where close to being as quick as a s2000 around a track. Any way you slice it, 2900lb/rwd/240hp/6spd > 3000+lb/fwd/200hp/5spd. Im not even want to bring the viper into this... they are in a totally different league.

(i cant believe im defending a s2000 haha).

First off the generation of Prelude you're talking about is 92-96 not 92-95...

Second...
SR's pull pretty decently...don't underestimate them. I've seen them beat Civic SIR's, base model RSX's and even a Nissan V-Spec (stock)
But SR-V's are pretty hardcore...they'll eat any V6 Accord alive and most other cars too.
I've personally seen an 92-96 SR beat accords...but that's another story...

And sleepy_GSR where do you get a "joke in terms of speed" from.
I assume you own a GS-R...so a little bit of FACT for you before you run your mouth...

Prelude: 2809 lbs
GS-R: 2529 lbs

Prelude: 190hp w/ Vtec
GS-R: 170hp w/ Vtec

For the record, I've whooped more than enough GS-R's when I had my SR-V...they're quick, light, but not a challenge when it comes to going against the H22.

Then again what do I care...I took the engine out of my 95 SR-V and threw it into a 94 Hatchback, now I can rip both cars
