b16 EG vs turbo talon
 

Well i was cruisin around last night in my semi-built b16 95 ex coupe, around 1 in the morning after work. This teal turbo talon rolls up and starts with me. So going around the traffic cirlce on Queenston (in Hamilton) he was in the left lane and i was in the right lane. There was a car in front of me so i dropped her down a gear and passed the talon. So after he passed that other car he gets in the right lane and starts to give 'er. So i gave 'er too. Sure enough i left him. So, he cought up and got in front of me. We get to a red light at Ottawa and King so i get over into the right lane then he pulls in front of me, so i got back into the left lane and he got back over in front of me again. So i figured ok, this pu$$y doesn't wanna go me. So few cars pull up in the right lane and just before the light goes green he throws a full bottle of beer out of his window at my car. Thankfully he missed, because i would have had to get mad. So i followed him for a bit and got his license plate, just in case i got a flat tire from the glass or, if he damaged my car at all.
I guess he was just pissed that i showed his turbo talon up in my civic in front of his friends.

Why do you say that? My b16 is built up pretty good, P&P, valve job, milled .030", stage 2 cams, daul valve springs, etc, etc, only thing stock is the block.
You can clearly hear a turbo spool on a boosted car. Plus this wasn't even just a turbo'd talon, he had work done to it. I've raced my buddies stock AWD turbo talon when it was just stock b16 w/I/H/E and we were dead even.

It would've been more like licking it off the ground b/c the bottle broke right in front of my car. My g/f said i should've smashed the hood of my car, called the police and got a new carbon fibre hood out of it, but i'm not like that. Makes me wonder about my g/f.
I love the expression on people's faces when the hear VTEC screaming as i rip past them. Sounds ricer-ish, but if you seen my car you would understand.....sleeper....big time.

Cool, nice car. I figured one of them had to be your car. But seriously i get all sorts of "wtf looks" :eek: when i rip past cars at 8500rpm. No people have faith in b16's, with just a little bit of money, the right knowledge and the proper combination of parts b16's can haul a$$.

yep 8500rpm. Cams make power that high too. Been to the dyno not too long ago, but i need to go again for some more tuning. I've added a whole bunch of new parts since my last tuning session.
Last time i raced a 5L mustang all i had was a b16 w/I/H/E. I thought it would have spanked me harder, especially off the start. By the time we stopped racing he was maybe 2.5-3 car lengths ahead.
But i'm ready for the v8's now.
I'll race anyone, anytime. Even if i know i will lose. Its just fun racing. Most people, around here at least, don't expect a stock looking civic to be even remotely fast. Its great when people in their moms minivan or dads truck try to go me. I prolly wouldn't get half of the races that i get if my car didn't look stock.

i really dont know if u can keep up though dude i dont got a 302 in my car and the money i just threw at my engine would make most ppl wanna puke

Hey thats even better...this summer my friends and I will be T&T'n at TMP (Cayuga)....just look for the Blue 69 Yenko Camaro and we can line up and have a friendly race....for some reason we tend to be up there when lots of imports are running...guys with Turbo Supra's, RX7's and DSM's ask us to have friendly runs...all in good fun :)

Should be out sometime soon, its a green 1978 Nova, 350 4 bbl, headers and duals, im out all the time and have yet to be surprised by a civic around hamilton, most just have a huge fart can and cut springs :supergay:

you wouldnt have gotten anything from him if the bottle hit your car.... its bullshit but a window broke out of a cabinet in the truck ahead of me and chipped up the car i was driving.... it was an 04 aurora, so we got the pepole to pull over and we called the cops and the cops came and nothing could be done.... i cant remember the excuse for nothign being able to be done but i was left wit ha car with glass chips all over it.

You know what gets my respect? People that actually wrench on their cars theirselves.

What does that really have to do with anything? I use to make 260whp/L, it still doesn't mean anything. That whole hp/l deal is stupid anyways. I would take a 8.3L V10 making 500hp over a 1.6L making 160hp any day. Even though its only making 60hp/L opposed to 100hp/l.

People seem to think that i am a ricer, but would a ricer build a 1.6L that makes over 100whp per litre?
No, a ricer would put a whole bunch of neon lights and a big wing on their car, but do you see any of that stuff on my car? Didn't think so.
Oh, i agree about rather having a 500whp 8L V10.....torque owns....anyday. And thats something my engine lacks....torque, but how much torque can you expect out of a N/A 1.6L?
