i've seen many talons run 11s. what makes it so hard to believe that a talon can beat a stock porsche.

thats what we've been saying, its still nice to here about these kill stories though, but there are some idiots who start bashing right away, before they here the facts

if i had a porsche and you beat me in your talon, i would care really. why? cause ive got the exotic, and what do you have? a rusted talon.

Of course the porsche owner would care if he lost to a less expensive car. Thats just the way it is. Nobody goes out and buys a top-notch performance car and likes lossing to a lower class vehicle. Of course you wouldn't care about lossing, u drive a j-body , thats all your used to.

I know of a viper that got smoked by a 1st gen rx7. It pissed off the viper so much he went out and spent $50Gs on a hennessy package for his car, and still ended up lossing. I've beat porsches, vettes(z06s), supercharged M3 and boosted NSX's in the past, and they were all pissed that they couldn't beat my POS talon.

Now as for the comment about going in a straight line.... My car is set-up to take turns quite well actually, thanks to my Koni yellow/eibach sportline combo. AWD is unbeatable in bad weather too. And to top it off, I get way better gas milage(off boost) than 95% of the cars with my kind of power.

As for spending all kinds of $ on my car. Well I found the talon with a blown motor for $700, and then transfered all my mods from my laser over, and added a few goodies of course.. I did all the work myself which prolly saved me at least 5-7G's in labour alone. So really I didn't spend that much at all compared to most guys that have someone else build their cars for them.

People are unreal, give the guy some respect for what he has done to his car, keep in mind that dsms came with 195 hp stock and ran 15's. Name another car you can put minimal amomunts of money into and have it spank vettes and porsches? Sure its no exotic and thats the point, 99% of the people in the world cant pull 100+ grand out of there ass, and if they can all they know about their car is where to put gas into it.

^^^ The talon in question is a FWD 1Ga. So it would have an advantage against an AWD Carrera from a roll. With how hard I've pulled on a Carrera, I have no problems believing the outcome of that race, especially since my old turbo set-up is in that car too :smilie_da

What we should have posted is what a street legal car can beat. Have this in all categories...ie. Talon, Civic etc.

its funny how people (that stupid fuk stealthz mostly) start bashing on a legit kill, when a box (and ive driven that talon before, believe me its not a box) spanks an expensive exotic, i mean, what do you suggest people should post in the KILL STORIES section: a guy in a c6 vette just beat a guy in an integra... big whoop.

The whole point of having a modified box is because you obviously cant afford an exotic, so to mention that the guy in the carrera is laughing at you every time you beat him, is not true... he is crying because he was just handed his ass by a box... and the salesman at the dealership said that he is faster than anything on the road.

So to all the haters, just shut the fuk up, and learn how to appreciate the hard work and knowledge that people have put into their cars.

Good kill. Having lived in Edgewater, New Jersey for a few months, I have seen numerous Carrera's, Boxter S', Z3's, Z4's etc. and I can vouch that one can buy an Eagle Talon, Honda Civic, etc. basically an economy car, modify it to be responsive, and it will smoke a high end car. Any mechanic that knows what he's doing can modify a Talon to kill a Carerra. Why? The 4g63det engine responds VERY well to mods, better than a cavalier or a cobalt, or lower-end domestic vehicles. Ice effect...nice kill, and tell us more about the project in the works. P.S. with that talon you should have numerous kill stories..keep them coming!

really depends on what kind of carrera it is... if its a stock non turbo 996 or older, then it would probably get owned by more than a few cars.... but if its a turbo than it would probably kill most of the guys that come to these "gatherings" but there are definetely a few guys here that i know would hand them their asses.
