Yes, because we all know horsepower is the only thing that determines a car's speed

Some people are retarded, vtec doesnt add power, it simply lets the motor show its full potential. When vtec is disengaged, it has less power to make for better fuel economy and better drivability, when it is enganged you have the full power of the motor and somewhat shittier fuel economy.
Think of it as buying a performance cam for a non-vtec motor, say it makes power from 3000 to 8000rpm. Thats great, but what happens below 3000? it runs like ***. Thats where vtec comes in, it gives the low rpm drivability of having a stock cam, and when you want the power, you get the high end power of an aftermarket cam, with none of the negatives.
The idea is that when you want the power, you're going to be shifting at redline, when you shift at redline and hit the next gear, the rpms dont drop below the vtec engagement point.

cool man, bring your 2.2 liter vtec powered honda and ill bring my 2.4 liter cavalier and we can have a little shake down. your swap vs my turbo, should be no match as domestcs make no power
heres the thing to add to vtec, you engage vtec manually whli the car is idling and watch what happens, the car will stall. the timing and everything gtes so aggressive that it cant be used at low rpms. its a cool technically for sure but all it doesnt intimidate anyone

Um i cant believe how long this thread has been going on. There are less and less riced out civics and less and less ugly as cavs. Go get your self a real car than talk about racing. Untill than dont let those words come out of your mouth because you sound retarded. Every time i see a civic ricer or a punk in a cav wanna race i laugh.
