Never implied that he purchased the car to get a girlfriend. I was just trying to point out, that win or lose, the guy in the CL65 probably wouldn't have given a .

Crank up the boost on that AMG like 2 psi, and the results would be humorous..

Let's see that race again from a dig.

$179,000 or not, the benz is gonna get beat.

Perhaps you should read the quote again.

BTW you sound like a man suffering from SPS.

I suggest you register for remedial english.

NOTORIOUS VR 02-24-2005 03:37 PM

Ok this is getting stupid...

You want me to take english classes?

To me, you saying that "it's sad if the only way you can get a GF is with a $200K car" means you are implying a 200K car is need to get a GF. Which is what I've been saying the past 3 posts.

So instead of telling me that I need english classes, why don't you explain how what you said doesn't mean what I just posted 4 times in a row now.

:retard:

General 02-24-2005 09:40 PM

ok.. thats enough talking..

both cars are nice.. and no one relly meant that they want a 200k car to get a GF

leave it at that

Obviously English is not your first language, nor have you been speaking it for very long because you seem to have much difficulty grasping the meaning of the sentence. I will do my best to clarify it:

Had I not included "pretty sad if" and said “the only way you can get a girlfriend is with a $200K car.” Then that would mean exactly what you said; which would be to imply that only a $200k car can get you a girlfriend.

However, you obviously do not understand the meaning of “if” or how it changed the nature and meaning of the sentence.

I said:

“Pretty sad IF the only way you can get a girlfriend is with a $200K car.”

“If” was being used as a conjugation:

“In the event that”

“Granting that”

“On the condition that”

Thus the sentence meant that it is pathetic IF the only way one can procure a girlfriend is by having a $200k car. It clearly did not mean that I was asserting that having a $200k car is the ONLY means to the end. That is why what you said 4 times now is actually incorrect.

Would you like a further explanation? I will be happy to assist you if it is still not clear.

Seeing as you're only working on the sentance and not regarding anything said before your post, you can get away with your explanation, but you originally posted that because you wanted to imply that a $200K is needed to get a GF. Otherwise you wouldn't have said that. :supergay:

But thanks for the engslish lesson there professor, I couldn't have done it without you.
