rx7 550 cc's on a dsm
hey guys, im hoping to get 4 1gen rx7 550cc injectors from a friend of mine, the problem is that i dont know much about these injectors and how hard it would be to make them work on my talon. ive tried the dsm boards but nobody knows much about them. so i was wondering if anyone here has a clue. i know B6T works on rx7's ALOT, so if youre reading this, let me know what you think, thanx for the help

Are you sure they are from the 1st gen?
I recall going to a wreckers with B6T to grab some injectors off of an rx7, it was an FC rx7 (2nd gen). Does your DSM use side or top mount injectors? The rx7 injectors are top mount, and high impedance.
For some reason I think the FD rx7 injectors are the 550's though (3rd gen)....I will direct him to this thread...

I don't know that much about RX7s, but I'm pretty sure that the 550cc injectors most people are using are the primary injectors from the third generation twin turbo RX7 (FD). The older second generation RX7s (FC) came with a whole bunch of different sizes, including 550cc. The injectors Adam is talking about are 460cc high impedence injectors from a non turbo 1986 model RX7. They are easy to spot because they are red, and have the square plug with an offset rib.

im not really sure 100% from what gen they are from, but i know that they are 550cc. my dsm is top mount feed, and the injectors are low impedence. but the way it works is that i have a resistor box that goes thrugh every positive wire of each injector which makes they low impedence (non turbo dsms come wihtout that box and they come high impedence). so what do you guys think, is it possible?

Buy some and try it out. I have no idea on the sizing of the ports on your fuel rail or the size of the injectors.
I know a lot of N/A supra guys/is300 guys use the rx7 550's on the 2jzge. Apparently with the 2jzge, depending which gen fuel rail you have, those injectors fit or won't fit (there are two rails).
Find someone that has tried it out, or just try it yourself and sell them if it doesn't work out. I am sure they are rather cheap on ebay/rx7 forums.
Another option is getting your stock injectors rebuilt and bored. There are a few company's that remanufacture stock injectors to spray more. My 440cc injectors have been re-built and now flow 680cc/min.
