You should be ok as long as you keep the cc's under 600 and steer away from "sport" and lean towards something more touring like a GS or SV/RF etc. or go a little old school and get RZ350 still alot of fun and it's a two stroke

kaspard is the best for riders under the age of 25.
I got insured later in the season which was more pricey, but i paid 2200 and i was 19 with a 600cc sport bike.

Just wondering if I'm 26 and never had a bike before, what would I be looking at paying? for something under 600 or a 600

im 23 and i got a quot from state farm, for 80 for liablility and 140 for full coverage on a 600cc bike, i have a speeding ticket. but it is shitty cause you have ot pay for a full year now not just 6 months. is there any way around this?

The insurance companies recognize that you wont be riding full year. The "annual rate" they quote reflects this.

Btw. Statefarm is definitely the place to go if you have a clean record and have your car with them. I have my car and home insurance with them and my prem is $70/month liability only or $100/month full coverage on a 2003 R1. (30 yr old/no tickets). If I had an R6, it would have only been 49/month.

When I went to statefarm last year, they told me they won't insure riders under 25 WTF?! I'm gonna give it a shot again this year.
