if i passed my written test would i able to ride?
also what kind of bike am i limited to riding?

yeah u can ride after uve obtained ur M1 lincense with any bikes with some conditions
- u can ride from sunrise & b4 sunset
- no 400 series highways
- no passenger
- abviously no alcohol

for riding equipment i know i need to get like the best helmet possible. but stuff like jacket can i use like really thick leather jacket.

leather riding gear is for protection textile equipment is also good but u can use jean jacket cheaper options as for gloves u can get a pair of leather gloves at reasonable price & for helmet get the best helmet u can afford good luck

the bikes you're limited to in my opinion would be...

suzuki GS500F (cheap on insurance)
suzuki katana gsx 600 (this bike is perfect for a beginner that wants a bit more power and cheap insurance as well)
suzuki sv650 (might be slightly more on insurance but still an ok beginner's bike in my opinion and it also has more power)
kawasaki ninja 500 (cheap on insurance)

kawasaki zzr250 - this bike I'd would say is the perfect beginners bike but you will get borred of it within a week.

you can ride any bike you want even a hayabusa, but many people would recommend you to practice with smaller bikes

If the rules have not changed in the last 5 years, yes, this was true when I got my M1. Reply #1 was right on the dot with the answer.
