cost of riding motorcycle for full year?

Hello. I am planning to buy Suzuki GS600F aka Katana. The thing is I am wondering is what is running cost. I am sure I will be doing more than 15000 a year on it as right now I do more than 5000 on scooter just in the city.I live in Scotland. Please state what is your bike and style of riding and mine is fastI am interested in cost per month and year. I would not count in fuel. I am more interested in parts use and such.

If your buying a suzuki then you shoulden't have to worry too much about parts... Servicing is usually ok but things like exhausts and brakes can total over £500.... As long as you keep it serviced every 10000 miles you shouldent need to spend a fortune getting new parts...If your driving style is fast then you big costs are likely to be petrol. I can sometimes spend up to £200/month if I ride it everywhere....Tyres can usually be found cheap as long as you opt for the standard ones and not the high performance racing rubber... I ride a Kawasaki ZX 636 if this helps...

I suppose you have to look at the mileage you are doing now 5000 for myself is a good week but then I drive a lot especially on holiday. To the point, I service my own scooters and the girlfriends if you are worried about maitenance and parts my advice would be to do a course if 4stroke maintenance or even bike if you can find one (lots of night classes out there) I would charge anywhere from £30 to £70 per hour just to look at someones bike thatis a lot of money saved if you did a course in maitenance. for instance oil, plug, filter change should be done on a scooter, 2stroke vespa, every 1000 miles on a auto scooter every 4000 miles you should be changing belt and rollers or at least relubricating your rollers. as for a 4stoke bike then if your doing a lot of mileage and now that it is winter I would look at every 4-6000 miles and we know how cold and wet it gets in scotland, i'm from wales. hope this helps
