I start it up with the full choke and then after a few minutes I turn it down but then after I rev the engine a few times it cuts off. So I start it up again with the full choke and it won't start unless I have the throttle wide open with the full choke, as soon as I let the throttle go it cuts off. Its an 07 Kawasaki 250 Ninja. So its fairly new. What could be the problem? I don't have a lot of gas in there but its enough. Should I fill it up and try again? My friend suggested I need to remove the carbs and clean it out.The tank is on.

i have to agree it sounds like you have the fuel on off or reserve put your fuel switch all the way down and then try it

You're flooding the carbs. Kwaks usually need choke to start but not full choke as they roar into life and don't do the engine any favours if it's cold. If it wont start after trying with the choke, hold the clutch in and turn the throttle 3-4 times. Try again with half choke

Make sure the choking and UN-choking is done per recommendation, I was UNder the impression that it is to be un-choked in steps of, full, 3/4, 1/2, 1/4 and release.or 1/3 at a time full to non. But depends on the equipment, read the owner's manual, October is a hot month so it may vapour locking, in USA it is getting cold so it may need more choking or longer time of choking , lines may be freezing momentarily. Try keeping gas tank 1/2 full at least. If it works then, all is well.Make sure the tank is clean and you are using recommanded octane levels. Next step will be to get it service by authorised dealer.

The reason you choke your motor is to insure that you are getting a richer mixture of fuel in a cold motor so that combustion can occur more readily. Your carburetor must send the correct mixture of gas and air to the combustion chamber for your motor to run smoothly. Your cycle should still be under warranty, it would be wise to take it back to the dealer and let them adjust your carburetor. At any rate make sure that only someone qualified tinkers with your carb, if someone adjusts it too lean or too rich it could cause damage to your engine.

This sounds like the pilot jets are plugged up. Has the bike sat for a while without being ran? If it's under warranty I'd take it back to the dealer to have it checked out.
