Looking to start riding? Insurance may be adding more bikes to blacklist!

Heard rumblings on the www.gtamotorcycle.com forum that several people have called their insurance companies and they are adding additional bikes to the blacklist (super sport category) that were not on it before. Be weary that I believe this is happening and if you're looking to start riding check out insurance premiums before buying a bike.

For those that don't know blacklist or SuperSport listed bikes carry a 200%-300%+ premium meaning you will most likely pay 2-3x more insurance then an equivalent non-blacklist bike. I.e. $4000+ for a Yamaha R6 compared to a $1500 for a SV650 (just an example)

The additional bikes that have been identified as being black listed are:

Kawasaki Ninja EX500
Kawasaki Ninja 250 (ZZR? What the #$*@?)
Kawi Z750 (guess that'll also mean the Z1000)
Kawi ZX14R
Kawi ZZR600

Suzuki GSF600 Bandit
GSF1200 Bandit (duh! I wanted this bike)
GSX600F Katana
GSX750F Katana
GSX1400
RGV250
SV650S
SVl000S

Yamaha FZ1
Yami FZ6
Yami MT-01
Yami YZFR6

I can see them adding the ZX14 or ZZR1400 in canada to the black list but where are you getting 250 and ex500 from???

They are adding the Z750 but leaving the Z1000 out?

Somethings not right...

The R6 has been on the black list for some time now... but it doesn't mean that you can't get insurance for it... Its just more expensive...

Just look around before you make the deal... State Farm is by far the best but you need to have a clean record for them to take you on...

The Ninja 250 really threw me off as well. But a broker from Duffy insurance told the forum members the newer Ninja ZZR250's is blacklisted.

If the Z750 is listed then I suppose the Z1000 will be as well even though not explicitly mentioned.
