Making a dirtbike street legal

Ive heard of guys making trail/dirtbikes street legal. Anyone done this or know guys who have. I would take it to someone if you know where i could take it, if it dosn't cost to much. I think i could do it myself if someone told me how much work it is and some of the wireing.

what you need to do.
find a decent 4 stroke bike. you dont want a 2 stroke for the streets.
second, get something with electric start so it takes care of that for you insteed of you installing a kit wich is a real pain. you need to now install turn signals, horn, brake light if not equiped, head light if not equiped, and rear view mirrors. dont forget you need high pressure tires.
you will also need to find a bike that isent stamped on the fram as "OFF ROAD ONLY"
this is the most complicating part, but if you know the right people it should be fine. but there is always the option of buying a street legal one.
bikes like the honda xr650r,yamaha dw200 ,kawasaki sherpas, etc look around there not to expensive.
hope this helps!

There's nothing wrong with 2 stroke on the streets. I rode a 2 stroke, 500cc triple for years on the street. Then again, everyone told me I was nuts.

No theres nothing wrong with a 2 stroke i agree.but for someone that isent very experienced or prefferes comfort...2stroke aint the way to go.
