I heard that there is an engine called the Nissan SR4000Q5-50/X. It features triple wall helical cut titanium johnson rods and maintenance free self lubricating rotor sleeves. Since your car is RWD, (right-side wheel drive) you'd probably want to get that engine with the optional distribution rings, you know, just to keep things level when you're driving. If you get extra lucky and find one of these engines with the neon yellow coloured fuel carburetors, then you've scored yourself an engine with inconel inpregnated cooling towers for the eccentric rotor ports. It's hard to believe that only a few years ago, Nissan was still using the titanium plated cooling towers

Oh, and don't remember to use the radiator from a mid 80's Porsche 911... its all aluminum and extra thick (24"), I use it in my car and works especially well with the RX7 connecting rods.

Yeah man. Everybody knows that that engine would twist that car so bad the doors wouldn't open after 2 days. Escpecially with the RX7 rods. B6T are you sure the rad from a 911 would fit in the 240?
On a serious note, the SR20DET nissan engine is a good platform to start with. If you've got the money however the RB26DETT from a skyline would rock in that car. But not cheap.

You talking tranny or drivetrain.. drivetrain is motor+tranny.

What good is top speed anyway?
Sure going 200mph might seem like fun but I'd like to see a road you'll be safe doing it on in southern ontario
(not that a SR20 or the chasis is capable of 200mph without some serious money spent)

Like I said in the other post, if you want to increase your top speed and you've got a 240sx and it's an S14 you just need to grab the differential from a 300ZX turbo. It's got a final drive of 3.69 compared to the 4.01 of the stock 240sx.
If you have an S13 then you'll need to do a little work to get the diff to mount properly because the S13 diff is bolted direct metal on metal where as the 300ZX (and S14) diff had bushings.
You swap the S13 diff rear cover and then make some solid metal bushings so that the rest of the non-S13 diff can be connected without putting too much stress on the rear cover's mounts.

You'll accelerate to your higher top speed slower though, and most races are "won" well before anyone has hit top speed. So if that's your goal you'll just be making yourself slower.

Race me then you . Since I'm such a stupid ing ricer, you surely wouldn't have any problem throwing down $500 on the race, now would you? After all I am just a dumb ricer that doesn't know anything about cars, right?

I was trying to think why you're always so pissy towards me. But then I realized that if I was always hanging out in a parking lot and driving a crusty Nissan, I'd be full of rage too. Oops, sorry, I can't make fun of your rotted out 240 because its the ultimate drift machine, and I only drive a little POS Festiva. Funny thing is that my suspension is worth more then your junk 240.

And if you ever happen to see me at 403/Dundas getting a coffee with my girlfriend (something you could only dream of), please be sure to say hi... I'd love to meet you so you can say these things to my face.

You could do that buts its expensive and fabrication might be required. I think the rb25det tranny (forget the exact name) fits best but requires custom mounts. I think just using an sr20 and 300xz differentials should be okay. Just like nocwae said, this will slow you down .

Hey fred, whats up with all the 240 hate? your not car racist are you?!?!?

I would just tell that to his face, the guys only about 5ft tall and an extremely slim built. ANYONE could kick his ***.

OH NO! Not fabrication

The only problem I remember hearing about as far as fitment was interference between the steering shaft and the elbow on the back of the turbo, something which could be remedied by fabricating a custom downpipe. That, and you need a custom driveshaft (simple for a RWD car), and you need to modify the rear transmission support.

Simple . I wish my car was RWD, everything is so much easier when the entire drivetrain isn't stuffed in the nose of the car.

Ya that's why I decided not to turbo my NX2000 and just bought a silvia instead.

And exactly how tall was Bruce Lee. Or how about Royce Gracie? Or Jackie Chan or Jet Li? I'm a lot bigger than any of them, and have some pretty good fight skills, but would never pick a fight with any of them. Never underestimate the small guys.
