Re: the Honda Fit - should one be concerned that the gas tank sits underneath...

...the front seats? In researching to buy a second car it came down to a Scion XD or a Honda Fit for me. I liked both fairly evenly until I learned that the Honda Fit has its gas tanks underneath the front seats. This caused me some concern as to its safety in the event of a crash. Any thoughts?

i've been a f/f for a long time, and that explosive wreck NEVER happens...rarely and the position of the gas tank isn't gonna make a difference in a wreck, if it does happen to explode in the back you could be killed just as fast...safety standards wouldn't allow an unsafe vehicle to stay on the road very long at all...buy the one you like the most.
