I'm removing the backseat rest and once you do that their is like a metal backing between where the seat was and the gas tank. I want to mount some stuff on that metal backing but at the same time I don't want to go through my gas tank. Anyone have an idea on how far the gas tank is from the back metal plate? If no one has an idea I might just drill a hole and use a match stick figure out how much room I have to play with.

i had my tank out last week. the tank is actually above the muffler. if you look under the car you can see in front of the rear end the pump and abs sensor connectors are bolted to the part of the chassis youre talking about.

so to answer your question...yes you can mount things there.
