painting seats?
painting seats?
hey guys! my buddy has these racing seats he doesn't want...but the problem is that it's fading in color (Red)...and i was wondering besides redoing the uphostery...can seats be painted or dyed? let me knwo and has anyoen done or recommend this?
See if you can take the cover/ upholstery off and dye it all in one colour that way... and ensure it dries and give it at least 24hours to dry and then wash ( to ensure no dye will sip thru.. last thing you want is a bloody *** going on a date ).. lol
If you can't take the upholstery off.. I wouldn't recommend dyeing on the chair as it'll soak thru to the foam.. which will take longer to dry and run a possibility of bleed thru back onto your clothes..
but that's just my 2 cents.

Some upholstery are stapled down.. some are tucked in or zippers.. So you'll have to look and see for any signs ( staple heads.. zippers.. etc.. )
there's specific paints for cloth to give a leather feel... i dont recall where i saw the link but there's a guy in seattle who sprayed his sparco with this vinyl look grey on his mini and i thought it looked kinda cool
ill try to find a link
