painting seats?

hey guys! my buddy has these racing seats he doesn't want...but the problem is that it's fading in color (Red)...and i was wondering besides redoing the uphostery...can seats be painted or dyed? let me knwo and has anyoen done or recommend this?

sure , just prime them 4 times, sand lightly and paint carefully will be nice for sure.

See if you can take the cover/ upholstery off and dye it all in one colour that way... and ensure it dries and give it at least 24hours to dry and then wash ( to ensure no dye will sip thru.. last thing you want is a bloody *** going on a date ).. lol

If you can't take the upholstery off.. I wouldn't recommend dyeing on the chair as it'll soak thru to the foam.. which will take longer to dry and run a possibility of bleed thru back onto your clothes..

but that's just my 2 cents.

Some upholstery are stapled down.. some are tucked in or zippers.. So you'll have to look and see for any signs ( staple heads.. zippers.. etc.. )

You could spray paint them. The paint will stick like super glue. I know a guy who did this on faded black seats

there's specific paints for cloth to give a leather feel... i dont recall where i saw the link but there's a guy in seattle who sprayed his sparco with this vinyl look grey on his mini and i thought it looked kinda cool
