Is this a good car deal?

DH & I are looking at buying a new car. We're in no rush to buy unless we find a great deal. (we owe $5900 on his truck and will be selling my car-KBB @ $8500). Probably not putting anything down on the new car, but will use the money from selling my car to payoff the truck and stick in savings.

We test drove a lot this weekend and fell in love with the CR-V. 4WD is a must for us and we are looking at the LX model (we don't need all the bells & whistles). Truecar has it listed at $21,881. One of our local honda stores has .9% interest with good credit (DH has a 776 score, 811 for me, so we should qualify). I don't remember honda as usually having a low interest rate. Is this a good deal? Should we go for it or wait a while?
Also, what else should we expect in the way of fees (i'm thinking roughly 2000 for taxes etc?). Is the extended warranty a good idea or should we pass (we tend to drive appx 15000 miles a year and plan on keeping the car for 10+ years).

Re: Is this a good car deal?

What year is the car your looking at? .9% interest is a good deal.

For the fees your looking at the registration fees, sales tax which at 8 percent or so will give you about 1,700, some times dealers will charge alittle more for document fees sometimes this price can be a couple hundred. Sometimes dealers will have those bongus fees like dealer prep or shipping fees that you wont expect. Find out early what fees you will be charged and negotiate accordingly.

ummmmm, what are you talking about? they are looking at a Honda CR-V, not a Nissan 300 ZX TT.

Or did I miss something?

Can't give you any advice on whether or not the price is good but I've heard nothing but good stories about CR-Vs.
