My truck that i just bought idles high at first, then settles down after a couple of minutes, the guy said the chip wasnt set to the truck properly and just needed to be reset.. do i need to goto a garage to do that, or can i just unplug the battery for a little and then have that reset it?

and yes its automatic

try the battery, unless its an after market chip. it wont hurt anything if u disconnect the battery and try anyways. saves u time and money!
