Motorcycle muffler and cheap vinyl saddlebags...yuck!?

I was trying to save a little bit of money so I purchased these saddlebags that are made from vinyl, or are of the vinyl family. Anyway, one of the bags got too close and left a patch of residue on my muffler. Are there any "magical" products out there that can remove this vinyl residue and shine the muffler back up? Thanks!!

Try warming up the muffler and spray with "Easy-Off" extra-strength oven cleaner (not the "odor-free" stuff)----PROTECT PAINTED SURFACES!!!---- let stand for 20 minutes or so, repeat a few times, DON'T SCOUR with anything abrasive enough to mar the chrome! You might still have a stain visible, use a cotton buffing-wheel with jeweller's rouge to polish (hardware-store kit).
The oven cleaner will also remove some of the blueing on the header-pipes too.
It worked for me, almost new again, hope it works for you!
