An Idea To Improve Car Enthusists Image

I was thinking about how to get good media for Car enthusist's and I thought..... Look what the Bikers did.

Ride For sight.

Why don't we organize a "Drive For sight" or "Cruise For Cancer" or something?

Get behind a Cause and raise money for it Driving Modified cars that the public, Police, and media seem to love to hate.

Any thoughts???

I know people who could help organize this but any help is welcome.

The problem is once you get 20+ done-up car's together, there will be 1 dumb *** who would wanna start racing ve other members and from there it will cause more problems. Giving the "meet" a bad name

It wouldn't really be a "Meet" it would be a cruise like the Ride For Sight.

Anyone who wanted to race insted of raise money for the Charity could do so on there own time.

It's about taking a break from the normal Hooliganisim to show the media, cops and haters were not all a bunch of A$$ holes out to kill people with our cars by racing on the streets. And Also show them that are cars are built to be Impressive looking and sounding as well as fast.

its a great idea man, but 4g63t elantra is right. see, most people will probably do a speedlimit cruise and obey all the laws. but, i know there are dumbass's out there who screw around. unless you know all the drivers, im certain that someone will eventuall begin speeding and racing the other cars or like doing ebraking in their honda
but, seriously, its a great idea. maybe get them to sign something saying dont screw around or you're effed.
oh, another issue might be at the ending location, there will be a "surprise" MTO inspection station

drifter420 will become famous soon enough
I like it ( though my car isn't modified )

Sign a waiver sayin you try to race or be stupid.. we strip your car naked and can be the next hottest squished thing I'm sure the police will have old clothes officers in surveillance vehicle blend into the mix to keep an eye out on us.. which is fine for this occasion. ( Wouldn't mind it this one time.. since dumb ***' won't try stupid things if cops are a few cars down or ahead. )

I am however concern for some with the possible MTO blitz..

Its been done b4 without trouble, a sport compact/lowrider club in Misserysauga called Lowered Intentions or close to used to put on charity fund raisers, never went to one myself, and I believe it was more like a car show n shine open to the public than a cruise type thing, so my point is that I dont think there will be trouble with a charity cruise, you can call the media for PR purposes and invite out a few cops (heiracy I know) cuz it should keep those antsy racers inline knowing they could get nabbed instantly, plus if you invite the cops and they do ticket you for mods n such - tell the media right there n then that you were trying to do something good and invited the cops and they ticketed you - basically it would look really bad for the police forces in the media, plus the public would think those cops were dicks for harrassing and ticketing ppl who were out for a good cause, so I think it's relativly safe to do it.

phatgreatwall has a little shameless behaviour in the past
ya i think it would be a great idea to greatly improve car enthusiast's images, especially if we invite a few media, im sure some newspaper and tv channels are more than willing to cover such a great story, especially at times right now where "if u got a aftermarket muffler ur a street racer and u kill innocent ppl" neway if u guys decide to go for a media relation cruise, with everybody donate like 2 bucks if the turnout is huge, it's a good ad even for this forum!

I was thinking maybe have a "dummie " finishing location so MTO and OPP ect can have there inspection spot and then the drivers show up to said spot in a few rental vans after the cars are parked at the real finish spot.
